Kaduna, Nigeria – The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended three suspects attempting to smuggle hard drugs concealed in a loaf of bread to a detainee.
According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, the suspects were identified as John Solomon (38), Kunle Oluwale (45), and James Daniel Baba (45), all residents of Sabon Wuse, Abuja. They were caught with an unspecified quantity of drugs hidden inside a loaf of bread at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) charge room in Kaduna.
The suspects allegedly tried to persuade the Charge Room Officer to deliver the bread to Gideon Amao, a suspect currently under investigation by the SCID. The police have taken photographs of the suspects and the recovered items, and an investigation is ongoing.
Following the arrests, the state Commissioner of Police, Audu Dabigi, issued a warning to officers to remain vigilant and observant to prevent similar incidents in the future.
