Bayern Munich has officially named Vincent Kompany as their new head coach on a three-year contract, effective Wednesday.
Despite Burnley’s recent relegation from the Premier League, the 38-year-old Belgian will take the helm of the German giants.
“I’m excited about the challenge at FC Bayern,” Kompany stated on Wednesday. “As a coach, you must embody your personal principles: I enjoy maintaining possession, being creative, and we need to be aggressive and courageous on the field.”
Kompany added, “I’m now eager to focus on the fundamentals: working with the players and building a team. Once the foundation is strong, success will follow.”
