The family of late Nollywood actor Amaechi Monago has announced that his burial will take place on June 21, 2024. The actor will be laid to rest in his hometown, Ugamuma village, Obosi, in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to a burial poster signed by his family, the ceremonies will commence on Thursday, June 20, 2024, with a service of songs at his residence at 6pm. The funeral service will begin on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 7am, with the body departing from Crown Hospital Mortuary to his residence for a lying-in-state. The burial service will follow at 10am at his residence, School of Health, Ugamuma Obosi, with interment immediately afterward at his compound in Ugamuma village.
The events will conclude with an outing thanksgiving service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Ugamuma Obosi, on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 10am.
The family has invited friends, fans, and well-wishers to join them in honoring the late actor, who left a significant impact on the film industry. “Even in death, he has left a legacy of love and exceptional artistry that will be cherished forever,” the poster reads.
Amaechi Muonagor passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 67, after battling prolonged health issues related to his kidneys, diabetes, and a stroke. Known for his versatility in both comedic and epic roles, Monago was celebrated for his remarkable acting skills and contributions to Nollywood.
