In a recent ceremony where he was honored with the 2024 Courageous Citizen Award by the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy (NACJD) in Abuja, Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, made noteworthy remarks regarding the interethnic relations between the Yoruba and Igbo communities. 

Obi asserted that the outcome of the 2023 general elections served as a testament to the absence of animosity between the two ethnic groups, debunking previous misconceptions.
