Nigerian activist lawyer Madubuachi Idam claims that U.S. President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race due to poor debate performance and declining health. Idam criticized Nigerian politicians for neglecting competence in leadership selection.
In an interview with DAILY POST, Idam emphasized the importance of mental and physical fitness in choosing leaders, contrasting Biden’s withdrawal with Nigerian political practices. He argued that Nigerian leaders often ignore debates and are elected despite poor performance, highlighting a preference for financial influence over competence.
Idam stated, “Biden stepped down primarily due to his poor debate performance and ailing health. Nigerian politicians, on the other hand, frequently disregard debates and still get elected. Competence is sidelined in favor of money, perpetuating ineffective leadership.”
He called for a shift in voter priorities, urging Nigerians to prioritize candidates’ health and competence to address leadership challenges effectively.
