An unidentified individual who fired shots at former President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania was shot and killed by Secret Service agents. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including the shooter, as confirmed by the county prosecutor. Trump sustained a minor injury from a bullet.
Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey expressed his support for law enforcement and condemned the violence. “I am monitoring the situation at President Trump’s rally in Butler and I’ve reached out to the State Police to offer support,” Casey stated. “Political violence is never acceptable, and I hope former President Trump and all attendees are safe.”
In response to the incident, the New York City Police Department has increased security at Trump Tower, 40 Wall Street, Foley Square, and City Hall. Mayor Eric Adams has been briefed on the situation, and NYPD continues to monitor Trump Tower, a notable gathering spot for supporters and opponents of Trump.
