Kazakhstan has secured its first medal at the 2024 Olympic Games, with Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev earning bronze in the 10-metre mixed team air rifle event.
The Kazakhstani pair triumphed over Germany’s Maximilian Ulbrich and Anna Janssen with a commanding score of 17-5 at Chateauroux, despite being ranked lower than their German counterparts.
This marks Kazakhstan’s first shooting medal since 1996.
The 2024 Olympic Games began on Friday night with a grand opening ceremony, and various events are currently taking place across multiple venues.
