Bauchi State Police Detain Man for Child Abuse in Giade LGA
In Bauchi State, the police have arrested Mamuda Abubakar, accused of chaining his six-year-old son in a room at their home in Giade Local Government Area. SP Ahmed Mohammed, the police command spokesperson, confirmed the incident on Monday, July 8.
The police received the report of child abuse on Sunday, prompting a team of detectives to swiftly respond and rescue the child. The investigation revealed that Abubakar and the child’s mother separated five years ago.
Abubakar stated that he forbade his son from visiting his maternal grandfather’s house due to concerns about the children’s behavior there. When the boy insisted on going, Abubakar became angry and resorted to chaining him.
The incident, which occurred on July 6 at around 5:20 PM, led to Abubakar’s arrest and his current detention at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi. The Bauchi State Police Command emphasized their dedication to protecting vulnerable children and urged the public to report any abuse or maltreatment.
