Premier League: Enzo Maresca Selects Robert Sanchez as Chelsea’s First-Choice Goalkeeper for Next Season

In a decisive move for the upcoming season, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has designated Robert Sanchez as the team’s primary goalkeeper, despite the impressive performance of Djordje Petrovic towards the end of the previous campaign.

Petrovic had become the favored choice under former manager Mauricio Pochettino after Sanchez sustained an ankle injury. However, Maresca’s appointment has shifted the dynamics in Chelsea’s goalkeeping department.

The Telegraph reports that Maresca prefers Sanchez, citing the 26-year-old Spaniard’s adeptness at playing out from the back, which aligns well with the new manager’s tactical approach. This decision underscores Maresca’s strategic vision for the Blues as they prepare for the new season.
