Spain’s Rodri Crowned Euro 2024’s Best Player After Thrilling Victory

Spain’s dynamic midfielder Rodri has been honored as the best player of Euro 2024 following his instrumental role in La Roja’s 2-1 triumph over England, securing their fourth European Championship title.

Despite being substituted at half-time in the final due to a knee injury, Rodri’s exceptional performances throughout the tournament earned him the accolade. His efforts were pivotal as Spain navigated past host nation Germany and powerhouse France to reach the final.

Rodri, who plays for Manchester City, scored his only goal of the tournament in the last 16, netting the equalizer in a commanding 4-1 victory over Georgia. His consistent and precise play earned him high praise from coach Luis de la Fuente, who lauded him as a “perfect computer” for his impeccable passing and game intelligence, crucial in leading a young squad through a challenging path to victory.

The 28-year-old has been a key figure for both club and country, with only one loss in his last 80 games across all competitions. This Euro 2024 win adds to his impressive collection of titles, including two Premier League championships, the Champions League, one FA Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup with Manchester City, and the Nations League with Spain.
