Transfer: I’m here to take decisions – Maresca confirms dropping Chelsea defender

Maresca Explains Decision to Exclude Chalobah from Chelsea’s US Tour

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has clarified his decision to omit defender Trevoh Chalobah from the squad for their US pre-season tour. Maresca acknowledged the difficulty of leaving players out but emphasized his role in making such decisions.

Chalobah, now anticipated to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent transfer, is valued at £35 million. Three Premier League clubs have reportedly expressed interest in the defender.

“It’s always sad to leave a player out… but I’m here to take decisions,” Maresca stated. “For Trevoh, we have Wes, Axel, Tosin, and a young talent like Josh Acheampong who is performing exceptionally.”

Chelsea are open to selling Chalobah this summer, with several clubs already in contact regarding a potential move.
