Nigerian Defender Troost-Ekong Attracts Interest from Three Saudi Clubs
Nigeria’s William Troost-Ekong is reportedly on the radar of three Saudi Arabian clubs this summer, according to DAILY POST. BBC reporter Oluwashina Okeleji revealed that these clubs have expressed interest in the centre-back following his impressive pre-season performance with PAOK.
The 30-year-old has fully recovered from the injury he sustained at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and was in top form during PAOK’s pre-season matches. Troost-Ekong, a former Watford player, was previously linked with a move to a Saudi club during the 2023 AFCON finals in Cote d’Ivoire, where he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
Troost-Ekong recently scored the decisive goal in PAOK’s 3-2 victory over Bosnian club FK Borac Banja Luka in a UEFA Champions League second-round qualifying match, further showcasing his skills and boosting his appeal to potential Saudi suitors.
