Nigerian Singer Victony Discusses Health Struggles and Upcoming Surgery
Nigerian artist Anthony Ebuka Victor, known professionally as Victony, has disclosed that he has undergone four surgeries with another one imminent.
Victony, who survived a severe car accident in 2021 that left him in a coma for four days, shared details of his ongoing recovery during an interview at the Afroland Festival’s Adesope live segment.
Reflecting on his health journey, Victony stated, “I’m still in the recovery phase after four surgeries, and I’m preparing for another one post-tour. Despite the pain, I continue to perform and record, relying on pain relievers to manage the discomfort.”
The singer expressed gratitude for his resilience and the ability to continue his career, adding, “I am blessed, and the world can see it. It’s by God’s grace, not by power, that I can keep going.”
In February 2023, Victony took a two-month hiatus from music following his third surgery. He remains optimistic as he embarks on his North American tour, emphasizing the blessings amid his health challenges.
