Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has reaffirmed the club’s support for manager Erik ten Hag, despite a crushing 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Speaking about the ongoing relationship with the manager, Berrada stated, “Erik ten Hag has our full backing, and we’ve worked very closely together in this transfer window.
“We’re going to continue working very closely with him to help him get the best results out of the team.”
The defeat against Liverpool, United’s second of the season, exposed notable weaknesses in the squad.
Luis Diaz, assisted twice by Mohamed Salah, scored twice in the first half, with Salah adding a third goal in the second half of the encounter.
United struggled to respond, with a disjointed defense and an ineffective attack that managed only one shot on target in the first half.
Ten Hag’s frustration was evident as he made several tactical changes, including substituting Casemiro at halftime after a disappointing performance that contributed to Liverpool’s first-half goals.
