Former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has voiced his opinion on the Ballon d’Or race, naming Manchester City’s Rodri as “the best player in the world.”
During a discussion on his podcast, Mikel praised the 28-year-old midfielder, who is a contender for this year’s prestigious award alongside Real Madrid stars Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.
Rodri played a pivotal role in Spain’s flawless Euro 2024 campaign, helping La Roja secure a record fourth European Championship by defeating England in Germany last summer.
“In my opinion, the best player in the world right now is Rodri,” Mikel Obi stated.
