Breaking News: Speaker of the House Calls for President Biden’s Resignation

In a forceful statement on Sunday, Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, urged President Joe Biden to step down from his position immediately. Johnson’s call for resignation follows Biden’s recent announcement regarding the upcoming presidential election.

“If Joe Biden is not fit to run for president, he is not fit to serve as president. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough,” Johnson declared, emphasizing the urgency of his demand.

Biden, facing significant pressure concerning his age and health, announced on Sunday that he would not participate in the forthcoming presidential election. Despite this, he reassured the public of his commitment to fulfilling his presidential duties.

Additionally, on Friday, five Democratic representatives—Jared Huffman (California), Marc Veasey (Texas), Chuy Garcia (Illinois), and Marc Pocan (Wisconsin)—issued a joint statement urging Biden to step aside and allow a new generation of Democratic leaders to emerge.

The political landscape remains tense as Biden continues to navigate his responsibilities amidst calls for a transition in leadership.
