The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Mastercard Scholarship, available for both undergraduate and master’s degree programs. This scholarship is open to candidates from across the African continent who intend to pursue full-time studies at UWC.

Scholarship Details:

The University of the Western Cape’s Mastercard Scholarship is designed to nurture future leaders by providing educational opportunities to talented, service-oriented young Africans. The program supports academically gifted youth from South Africa and other African countries, offering fully-funded opportunities for undergraduate and master’s degrees.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Undergraduates:

  – Must be no older than 26 years.

  – Meet UWC’s minimum admission requirements.

  – Must apply for full-time undergraduate study beginning January 2025.

  – Demonstrate that economic and social barriers hinder their access to higher education.

For Master’s Students:

  – Must be no older than 30 years.

  – Meet UWC’s minimum admission requirements.

  – Must apply for full-time master’s degree study beginning January 2024.

  – Demonstrate that economic and social barriers hinder their access to higher education.

The scholarship particularly encourages applications from young women, refugees, forcibly displaced youth, and young people with disabilities.
