Arsenal Urged to Avoid Osimhen Transfer Despite Napoli Exit Opportunity

Amid reports of Romelu Lukaku’s imminent move to Napoli, speculation has arisen about Victor Osimhen’s potential exit from the Italian club. However, despite Arsenal’s apparent need for a centre-forward, many argue that pursuing Osimhen is not the right move.

With Lukaku expected to replace Osimhen at Napoli, some Arsenal fans hope this could pave the way for the Nigerian striker to join their ranks. Nonetheless, the consensus remains that Arsenal should refrain from this transfer.

Osimhen’s statistics, when compared to players like Kai Havertz, suggest he may not offer a significant upgrade. Additionally, Arsenal’s current squad and transfer priorities indicate that a new striker is not the most pressing need.

Kai Havertz’s form last season, combined with Gabriel Jesus’ stability and Leandro Trossard’s impressive central performances, has solidified their places in Mikel Arteta’s plans. Consequently, the striker position ranks low on Arsenal’s priority list.

Central midfield and defense are areas requiring more urgent attention. Arsenal is in negotiations with Riccardo Calafiori and might see departures like Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Furthermore, the club might need a new goalkeeper if Aaron Ramsdale leaves.

Given Osimhen’s high transfer fee, last season’s dip in form, and his limited improvement in finishing ability and goal contribution, Arsenal should look elsewhere to strengthen their squad. The door to a potential Osimhen transfer should remain firmly closed.
