In a concerning turn of events, a five-storey building being erected at the Dennis Memorial Grammar School in Onitsha, Anambra State, has tragically collapsed. The structure, part of a project by the Anglican School, was reportedly in its final stages of completion when it collapsed around 7:15 am this Wednesday.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident. However, a source within the school, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that significant financial resources had been invested in the construction.
According to the source, the collapse began from the top floor, gradually crumbling down to a pile of rubble. Despite the magnitude of the collapse, there was minimal risk to individuals as the students’ hostel was situated at a safe distance from the construction site, averting a potential disaster.
