The initial phase of the student loan scheme has officially begun, with students from federal institutions across the country set to benefit.
According to ELLIPTICAL NEWS, the loan website became operational shortly after midnight on Friday.
President Bola Tinubu first introduced the student loan policy in June 2023, aiming to provide interest-free loans to students. Although the scheme was originally slated to start in October 2023, it faced several delays before being re-enacted in April 2024.
NELFUND recently announced that the loan application and issuance portal would open on May 24.
During pre-application briefings, NELFUND specified that the pilot phase would be limited to federal tertiary institutions.
