Recounting her ordeal, she mentioned the telltale signs she experienced, including a bloated abdomen, irregular periods, and noticeable bulges when lying down.
"PCOS I haven’t had but I’ve had fibroids," Makinwa stated. Reflecting on her early days in the entertainment industry, she recalled the discomfort of constantly wearing multiple waist cinchers to conceal her belly, only to face unwarranted pregnancy speculations from the public and media.
Makinwa emphasized the importance of awareness and destigmatization surrounding fibroids, citing the distressing impact they can have on one's self-esteem and mental well-being. She expressed gratitude towards Stephanie Coker for shedding light on the issue through her documentary, enabling women to openly discuss their experiences and seek support.
Sharing her personal ordeal, Makinwa revealed the familial prevalence of fibroids and highlighted the distressing symptoms, including excessive bleeding and unpredictable menstrual cycles.
