Mr. Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, a prominent Nigerian figure known as Ijele Speaks II on X platform, has been detained by the Nigeria Police Force following accusations leveled against Evangelist Ebuka Obi.
Ofoegbu's arrest stemmed from his viral article in which he labeled the pastor as a fraud and accused him of orchestrating deceptive miracles, urging authorities to take action against him for allegedly turning his religious institution into a profit-making venture.
In his article, Ofoegbu questioned the legality of Evangelist Obi's actions and called for accountability, questioning why individuals like Obi are seemingly immune to the law's reach.
Following the publication of the article, police in Abuja summoned Ofoegbu to their station to investigate allegations of criminal intimidation, threats to life, cyberstalking, and cyberbullying against the pastor.
According to a petition letter obtained by SaharaReporters, the police requested Ofoegbu's presence for an interview with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police at the Zone 7 Police Headquarters in Abuja on March 21, 2024.
Despite Ofoegbu's compliance with the police summons, authorities reportedly refused to release him. He was subsequently transferred to the Keffi Correctional Centre in Nasarawa State on Friday morning.
