The Keynote Speaker today at the 1st International Conference of the Department of History and International Studies, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University...speaks on the need for students to contribute their Voices towards the Positive Growth of the Society.
He noted that, he was part of the school and the product of the institution from the onset.
In his speech, he talked about how young democracy in Nigeria is, with it, being about 20 years.
Therefore, laying more emphasis on protest as a drive to dialogue which would aid healthy democracy in Nigeria.
He said, "Peaceful protest is a way the people air their view and ask questions for the growth of the country. And the Government are liable to hear and attend to those voices"...
"The legislature holds democracy" He views legislature as a hold and glue to the success of democracy .
In Conclusion, Rt. Hon. Somto urge the students to contribute their voices towards the positive growth of their environment and surrounding.
