Aminu Abdulsalam-Gwarzo, Kano State Deputy Governor

KANO – The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, has formally apologized to National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for implicating him in the ongoing emirship dispute in the state.

Gwarzo had accused Ribadu of facilitating the return of the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, by providing private jets. Ribadu, however, denied these allegations and threatened legal action in response.

At a press conference held at the Government House in Kano on Monday, Gwarzo admitted that the government had been misinformed about Ribadu’s involvement. He clarified that the Office of the National Security Adviser had refuted the allegations and distanced itself from the controversy.

“We have to acknowledge that we were misled into believing that the NSA was behind the recent events,” Gwarzo stated. He also expressed regret for any embarrassment and inconvenience caused to Ribadu and emphasized that both he and the Governor of Kano State support Ribadu in his duties as the NSA.

Gwarzo assured Ribadu of their continued cooperation, acknowledging the possibility of human error and extending apologies on behalf of the state government.
