Elliptical News

No fewer than six passengers narrowly escaped death in a multi-vehicle collision on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday night. The accident occurred near the OPIC Estate community in the Isheri Olofin area and involved an unregistered diesel truck, a Yutong luxury bus, and two Ford buses.

A police source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed that the crash was caused by the diesel truck losing control and colliding with the other vehicles stuck in traffic. Although all passengers survived, two individuals sustained serious injuries and were promptly taken to the Lagos State Emergency Clinic in Ojota by Good Samaritans and police officers.

Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that the injured passengers are responding to treatment. She explained that the crash happened at approximately 23:00 hrs when the truck driver lost control and rammed into the other vehicles.

Police and MOTOPOL units quickly mobilized to the scene, assisting the injured and removing the vehicles to clear the blocked expressway and alleviate traffic congestion. The case is currently under investigation.

In a related incident, Elliptical News Reporter reported the death of Esla Adams, a corps member, in an auto crash on the Akwanga-Lafia Road in Nasarawa State. Adams, who was to be married in six days, was confirmed dead by his family and will be buried today.
