Abdullateef Aliyu Maiyaki, popularly known as Mufti Yaks, has passed away at the age of 20. The prominent Islamic cleric from Niger State died early Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the National Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
Renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Ismail Ibn Menk shared the tragic news on his Facebook page, expressing deep sorrow and offering prayers for the young cleric. Menk, a respected Zimbabwean Islamic speaker and role model for Mufti Yaks, wrote: "I’m saddened by the news of the death of the young Abdul Latif Miyaki Mufti Yaks this morning. May Allah Almighty forgive him, accept his good deeds and grant him the highest ranks of Paradise. Ameen.”
Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, also confirmed the news on his Facebook page. Pantami, who regarded Mufti Yaks as a son, expressed profound grief over the cleric's death. He announced that the funeral (Janaza) would be held at 10 am at Justice Maiyaki’s residence in Dutsen Kura Gwari, Minna, and prayed for Mufti Yaks to be admitted into Jannatul Firdaus.
Born in 2004, Mufti Yaks was known for his work as a motivational speaker promoting peace through his teachings. His efforts had a significant impact, touching many lives. His website describes him as a motivational and inspirational speaker committed to addressing global societal issues and fostering understanding. He was particularly passionate about helping children in homes lacking love and strong family relationships and was recognized with an award for his inspirational work.
