Tambuwal to Tinubu: You Can't Separate Your Government from Buhari's Failures

Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former governor of Sokoto State and current representative of Sokoto South Senatorial Zone, has called out President Bola Tinubu for his negative remarks about former President Muhammadu Buhari's tenure. Tambuwal, who served as the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of lacking a plan for securing the country and being primarily focused on gaining power.

Tambuwal criticized the Tinubu administration for its failure to secure Nigerians and foster development, while simultaneously attempting to distance itself from Buhari’s administrative shortcomings. He emphasized that President Tinubu should not permit his aides or ministers to disparage the previous APC government, which Tinubu himself had benefitted from as an APC member. Instead, Tambuwal urged Tinubu to focus on governing Nigeria with serious attention to security and development.

At a PDP stakeholders meeting in Sokoto State, Tambuwal encouraged party supporters to remain united and committed to political understanding and progress, despite the current challenges facing the country. He commended the PDP leadership in Sokoto for their efforts in maintaining party unity and called on members to participate in the ongoing party registration in the state.

Tambuwal's remarks underscore the ongoing political tensions as Nigeria navigates its complex governance and development challenges.
