Amid mounting pressure to replace Finidi George as head coach of the Super Eagles, Victor Ikpeba, a member of the NFF Technical Committee, has voiced unwavering support for the embattled coach.
Ikpeba, also known as the 'Prince of Monaco,' asserted that Finidi continues to have the full backing of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), despite recent calls for his dismissal.
"Nigerians clamored for a local coach, and Finidi was deemed the most suitable candidate to lead the Super Eagles," stated Ikpeba, emphasizing the committee's decision in the national interest.
He further underscored the NFF's commitment to stand by Finidi, despite the team's recent performance setbacks.
"While recent results may have been disappointing, mathematically, the Super Eagles still have a chance to qualify for the World Cup. We believe in Finidi's ability to steer the team towards success," Ikpeba concluded, urging continued support for the coach and the national team's improvement.
