Renowned Nollywood actor and producer, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has publicly accused teenage actress Angel Unigwe and her mother of breaching a filming contract.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Kanayo claimed that Unigwe’s mother prematurely removed her from a film set, violating the agreed terms. The veteran filmmaker alleged that this disruption happened before the contract’s expiration, as Unigwe’s mother took her home at 9 PM, despite the contract being valid until midnight.
Kanayo urged Nollywood producers to boycott the teen actress, threatening to interrupt any shoot she is involved in. “A particular woman has been holding producers to ransom. Unfortunately, she is Angel Unigwe’s mother,” he stated. He emphasized that such behavior undermines professionalism and unity within the industry.
He further warned, “From this moment, the 21st day of June 2024, any set that employs the services of Angel Unigwe, I will come to that set and make sure filming does not hold.”
As of now, Angel Unigwe and her mother have not responded to these allegations.
