Announcement from the Office of the SUG Attorney General, Apostle COOU



On Thursday, July 4th, a gathering convened in the Faculty of Sociology lecture hall at 3 pm, hosting representatives from various student bodies including SUG officials, Keggite club members, Faculty Executives, Departmental Executives, Nze na Ozo, and Course Representatives. Mr. Collins, representing the Vice Chancellor, unveiled initiatives by the Ag Vice Chancellor.


The highlight was a forthcoming seminar at Alex Ekwueme Square, part of the "One Student One Tree; One Staff One Tree" project aiming to plant 5 million trees over 5 years, encompassing Economic, Canopy, and Cultural varieties. The summit is scheduled for July 6th, 2024, with transportation provided—departure times are 6:30 am and 7:30 am, mandatory for the aforementioned leaders.


Additionally, plans were outlined to digitize COOU operations for streamlined payments into a single account, covering all school fees and dues for faculties, departments, and other student payments, ensuring easier access and payment processes.


The upcoming SUG elections were addressed, specifying a minimum CGPA requirement of 4.00 for presidential aspirants. Student leaders were urged to execute their responsibilities diligently under the mandate of the Vice Chancellor, who also proposed a dinner meeting to foster deeper engagement on COOU's growth trajectory.
