Biden Discloses Potential Reason to Withdraw from 2024 Presidential Race

President Joe Biden has stated that a serious medical condition would be the only reason for him to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election. In a recent interview with BET, Biden, 81, expressed that he would reconsider his candidacy if doctors diagnosed him with a significant health issue.

Biden emphasized his commitment to seeking a second term, citing the country's deep divisions as a compelling reason. "I said I was going to be a transitional candidate, and I thought I would be able to move on from this and pass it on to somebody else," Biden explained. "But I didn’t anticipate things getting so, so, so divided. And quite frankly, I think the only thing age brings is a little bit of wisdom."

Despite concerns raised by fellow Democrats following Biden's unsteady debate performance on June 27, the White House maintains that the president does not require a new medical examination. On Wednesday, Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) became the 21st House Democrat to suggest that Biden should step aside, asserting that “it is time for him to pass the torch.”

Should Biden exit the race, Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, is widely viewed as the most probable candidate to step in, although there are concerns among Democrats about her potential performance in the election.
