Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made at an event in Abakaliki, where APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje welcomed new high-profile members in Ebonyi State on July 13.
Anyim, who previously served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation under President Goodluck Jonathan, ran in the 2022 PDP presidential primary, securing only 14 votes.
He represented the Ebonyi South Senatorial District from 1999 to 2003 as a member of the PDP and was elected President of the Senate during his term.
