Major travel disruptions are expected to cause chaos in London as multiple Tube and train services face delays and closures amid a "do not travel" warning, just as fans are gearing up to watch the Euro 2024 final tonight.
Five London Underground lines are either disrupted or delayed this afternoon, and seven Transport for London (TfL) services are either delayed or closed. The disruptions include:
- Bakerloo line: Minor delays between Elephant & Castle and Queen's Park due to train cancellations.
- District line: Minor delays between Earl's Court and Kensington (Olympia) due to train cancellations.
- Circle line: Minor delays due to train cancellations.
- DLR: Part closure between Bank/Tower Gateway and Canary Wharf/Canning Town, and between Stratford and Canary Wharf.
- Hammersmith & City line: Severe delays due to train cancellations.
- Jubilee line: Part closure between West Hampstead and Stanmore.
- London Overground: No service between Highbury & Islington and New Cross/Clapham Junction/New Cross Gate.
- Metropolitan line: No service between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the-Hill, and no stopping service between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Northwood.
- Waterloo & City line: Not operational on weekends.
Additionally, the lack of a night Tube service will make it more difficult for fans to travel home from Euro final screenings.
To exacerbate the situation, Great Western Railway (GWR) has issued a "do not travel" warning starting at 6 p.m. today, affecting services between London Paddington and Bristol, and London Paddington, Swindon, and Cheltenham/Gloucester.
