Chelsea Legend Frank Leboeuf Criticizes Maresca's Tactical Decision

Santa Clara, California - In a recent pre-season friendly, Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Wrexham drew criticism from Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf. Leboeuf took issue with manager Enzo Maresca's decision to play out from the back, a tactic he deemed risky.

Speaking on ESPN, Leboeuf questioned whether the strategy was "brave or stupid," pointing out the potential pitfalls. "When you miss it and concede a goal, you look stupid. That’s for sure," Leboeuf remarked.

Contrary to Maresca's belief that building from the back leads to more goals, Leboeuf expressed skepticism. "I’m not a fan of it. I understand that you want to keep the ball and tire the opponent, but it’s a risk," he added.

Chelsea's draw against the League One side marked the start of their US tour at Levi’s Stadium, highlighting the ongoing debate over tactical approaches in modern football.
