Spanish journalist Abel Planelles has reported that ex-Barcelona defender Marc Bartra and model Jessica Goicoechea have ended their relationship.
The couple, who have been together since 2001, gained media attention earlier this year when Goicoechea disclosed their unconventional "sex deal" on a Spanish talk show. During a May appearance on "La Resistencia," she explained their arrangement: "If we don’t do it one day, you have to do it twice the day after," with Bartra present in the audience. This pact was intended to keep their connection strong during separations.
Despite their efforts, Planelles announced that their romance has now ended. However, he emphasized that they remain on amicable terms. “From what those around me tell me, there is no bad vibes, there is no bad relationship. In fact, on the contrary, there is a good relationship,” he said.
The couple's relationship has been marked by ups and downs, including previous breakups and reconciliations. They went public with their relationship in November 2022, shortly after Bartra's divorce from journalist Melissa Jimenez, with whom he has three children.
Goicoechea, a prominent model and influencer with 1.8 million followers, started her career at 15 and has since launched her own fashion line and cosmetics brand. Bartra, 33, currently plays for Real Betis and is known for his time at Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, where he survived a traumatic bomb blast incident.
While the relationship has ended for now, Planelles hinted that a future reconciliation is possible. “They follow each other, they get along well, but it is true that the relationship has ended. You never know if there might be a second chance or a third chance, but right now the relationship between the footballer and the influencer would be broken,” he said.
