Ian Cameron, a former head designer at Rolls-Royce, was fatally st@bbed on the doorstep of his £3 million mansion in Bavaria. The tragic incident, believed to be a robbery, occurred on Friday evening, July 13.
Cameron's body was discovered in the entrance of his luxurious home. German news outlet Bild reported that a man approached and st@bbed him. The Sun revealed that the CCTV over the garages, where Cameron kept his high-value vintage cars, had its power cables cut.
A manhunt is underway for the assailant after Cameron's wife, Verena Kloos, escaped by jumping over a wall and seeking help from a neighbor. She then contacted the police.
Cameron, 74, was renowned for his work at Rolls-Royce, where he contributed to the design of iconic cars like the 3 Series, Z8, Phantom, and Ghost before retiring in 2013 after a 20-year career.
Police have classified the incident as a "violent crime" and stated that the attacker fled on foot. Search teams are employing dogs and a helicopter in their efforts to locate the suspect. An officer informed The Sun that it is "extremely rare" for a burglar, who had prepared enough to disable CCTV, to commit such a brutal act.
The suspect is described as being between 180cm and 190cm tall, wearing light trousers, a dark blue hoodie, and carrying a red rucksack and yellow-green gloves.
