General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Stresses Vigilance Against Immorality
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant against sexual immorality, regardless of age or spiritual anointing. Speaking at the recent Ministers & Workers Conference of RCCG Americas 1, Adeboye highlighted the necessity of fleeing from sexual temptation.
Addressing the congregation during a sermon shared on his YouTube channel, Adeboye, 82, stated that he runs faster than ever to avoid any form of sexual temptation. He cautioned that no amount of anointing can guard against such temptations, using the biblical example of Samson, who succumbed to sexual immorality despite his divine strength.
"Somebody asked me, 'At your age, why are you still running?' I run faster than before because the closer you get to the finishing point, the more careful you must be," Adeboye explained. "Does anointing turn your body to stone? Samson was anointed but fell to a woman. It's a lesson for all."
Adeboye also warned ministers and youths to be wary of those who might seek to undermine their spiritual journey. He advised young people to flee from any hint of sin, underscoring the deceptive nature of temptation.
"You see that woman smiling at you everywhere you go, she is not interested in you but in destroying the great works God has done through you," Adeboye warned. "Run away from anything that looks like sin."
In his sermon, Adeboye urged the younger generation to heed his advice, stating, "When you see a girl smiling at you in a funny way, run because you can't win the battle."
The conference, themed "The Glory Ahead," included participants from North, Central, and Caribbean regions, highlighting the ongoing relevance of Adeboye's message in the face of modern challenges.
