Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has agreed to adhere to conditions set by the Federal Government for his release, as disclosed by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
In a recent meeting, South-East senators, including Abaribe, met with the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, to advocate for Kanu's release. They highlighted the escalating insecurity in the region and the disruption of social and economic activities as key reasons for their plea.
Abaribe, a former Senate Minority Leader, had visited Kanu at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters and conveyed optimism that the Attorney-General would persuade the Federal Government to consider releasing Kanu.
The senator emphasized that the ongoing unrest and insecurity in the South-East are directly linked to Kanu's continued detention, asserting that normalcy in social and economic activities in the region hinges on his release.
