In a significant development, operatives from the Niger State Police have apprehended Henry Musa, a hotel security guard, who allegedly absconded with a car entrusted to him in Awka, Anambra State.
According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the arrest was made by officers from the Sabon-Wuse Division. Musa, who was detained with the stolen Toyota Camry (registration number LND 851 CJ), reportedly intended to sell the vehicle in Dikko.
The incident occurred on July 2, 2024. Acting on received information, police operatives arrested Musa, 34, who was found with the car and duplicate documents on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in the Tafa area of Niger State.
During interrogation, Musa admitted to taking the vehicle, which had been entrusted to him by its owner at the hotel where he worked. He planned to sell it in Dikko.
The suspect is currently under investigation and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries and prosecution.
