President Biden's "I'm Sick" Tweet Sparks Confusion Amid COVID Diagnosis

In an unexpected series of events, President Joe Biden, 81, posted a tweet stating "I'm sick" just an hour after testing positive for COVID-19. The tweet, followed by a clarification three minutes later saying "of Elon Musk and his rich buddies trying to buy this election," left the nation puzzled over the seriousness of his condition.

Biden, who was experiencing symptoms like a runny nose and cough, had to cancel a scheduled speech in Las Vegas. He was seen boarding Air Force One using the shorter set of stairs, heading to Delaware to begin his isolation. Despite not wearing a mask, Biden gave a thumbs up from his limousine, known as "The Beast," and reassured onlookers, saying, "I feel good."

The White House physician reported that the president was experiencing general malaise. It was also confirmed that Biden, who is vaccinated and boosted, took a dose of Paxlovid on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier in the day, he had been speaking to supporters at a Las Vegas restaurant amid increasing calls from Democrats for him to step down from the 2024 presidential race.

In a recent interview, Biden stated he would only withdraw from the race if advised by doctors due to a significant medical issue. This followed concerns raised by some Democrats about his fitness to serve, especially after his debate performance against Donald Trump where he struggled with his words.

Dr. Kevin O'Connor, Biden's physician, maintains that the president is mentally and physically fit to serve. Biden has previously stated he would only consider stepping down if directed by a higher power or if presented with undeniable evidence of his inability to win the election.
