In an exciting twist, renowned American rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., better known as Snoop Dogg, is set to carry the Paris Olympic flame during its final stretch before the opening ceremony.
The ceremony, scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024, will feature over 10,000 athletes on boats along the Seine River. Snoop Dogg will carry the torch through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, as confirmed by Mayor Mathieu Hanotin on his official X account.
Mayor Hanotin announced, “Saint Denis: last step before the Eiffel Tower. An international cast @SnoopDogg for the last stretch of the Olympic Flame.”
Other notable torchbearers include French rapper MC Solaar and actress Laetitia Casta.
