Richard Hudson, Chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), has called for President Joe Biden to resign, asserting Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race is a "scandal of historic proportions." Hudson expressed doubts about Biden's mental fitness to continue his presidency.
Hudson stated on X, "If the president is mentally unfit to campaign, he is mentally unfit to have the nuclear codes. Judgment day is coming in November."
President Biden announced his withdrawal from the November election on Sunday, as reported by the Daily Post. The decision followed significant pressure from Democratic colleagues, top donors, and Hollywood figures after a poor debate performance. An increasing number of Democratic lawmakers had publicly urged Biden to step aside.
