The 2025 Nuffic MENA Scholarship Programme is now accepting applications, offering fully-funded opportunities for professionals in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to study in the Netherlands. This programme aims to support societal development and enhance the capacities of organizations by providing employees with short courses in various fields.
Eligible courses for this scholarship round include:
- Citizen Participation and Inclusive Governance
- Inclusive Service Delivery & the SDGs
- Urban Governance: Resilient and Smart Cities
- Local Climate Response
- Migration and Local Authorities
Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP) is designed to strengthen the skills and abilities of professionals, thereby enabling their organizations and communities to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be professionals from one of the eligible countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, or Tunisia.
- Applicants must be 45 years old or younger by the application deadline, with a two-week grace period.
- Applicants should not be employed by organizations with their own staff development programs, such as international development agencies or private companies.
- A minimum of two years of work experience is required.
- Proficiency in English is essential, as all courses are conducted in English.
- Applicants need to provide written support from their employer, endorsing their participation and commitment to implementing the Back Home Action Plan.
- Applicants should be working in one of the priority areas that align with the thematic focus of the MENA Scholarship Programme in their respective countries.
The MSP scholarship covers short courses ranging from 2 to 13 weeks in the Netherlands. The courses are offered in English or French, depending on the country and its thematic priorities. Scholarships are awarded to highly motivated professionals who best align with their country's specific focus areas.
Application Process:
- Initial assessment by The Hague Academy will evaluate eligibility, course relevance, motivation, and required documentation.
- Eligible candidates will be invited to register in Delta, Nuffic’s database, for the final application step.
- The Netherlands Embassies in each country will then assess and score applications based on national priorities.
- Nuffic will select the final scholarship recipients, considering budget constraints and the criteria set by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Selected applicants will be notified by The Hague Academy, while those who do not qualify will not receive further communication.
