Cardi B has once again filed for divorce from her husband, rapper Offset, after six years of marriage. The "Up" rapper had previously filed for divorce in September 2020 but later reconciled with Offset.
A representative for Cardi B confirmed the news to The Associated Press, stating, “This is not based on any one particular incident; it has been a long time coming and is amicable.”
While Cardi B has not directly commented on the divorce news on Instagram, she shared a rooftop photo, revealing a baby bump and announcing her pregnancy with their third child. "With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power," she captioned the photo. "It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
Cardi B and Offset, whose birth names are Belcalis Almanzar and Kiari Cephus respectively, share two children: 6-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave. The couple, both prominent figures in the hip-hop industry, secretly wed on September 20, 2017, in Atlanta, announcing their engagement a month later.
This latest divorce filing follows Cardi B's claim in 2020 that her marriage was “irretrievably broken.” The 31-year-old rapper filed the paperwork on July 31, as confirmed by a representative to Page Six. The news comes shortly after Offset denied cheating rumors on Instagram.
According to sources, the split is amicable, with both rappers having been “trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now.”
