Protest: Aloy Ejimakor Urges President Tinubu to Lead with Justice and Fairness

Aloy Ejimakor, lead counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has cautioned President Bola Tinubu amidst the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests and Kanu’s continued detention.

Ejimakor criticized those advising Tinubu to use force against protesters and to continue Kanu's trial and detention, suggesting such actions could be politically damaging for the president.

The constitutional lawyer called on Tinubu to prioritize justice and fairness for all Nigerians. Posting on X, Ejimakor stated, "Dear President Tinubu: Anybody advising you to use force against #EndBadGovernance protests and to persist in the #UnfairTrial and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not doing you any favor but is actually pushing you to destroy yourself politically. Lead with justice and fair play for all."

Kanu remains detained by the Department of State Services (DSS), despite court orders for his release. Efforts for a political solution have been ignored by Tinubu's administration, despite widespread public outcry over hunger and suffering in the country.
