Regina Daniels Responds to Critics Amid #EndBadGovernance Protests

Actress Regina Daniels Nwoko has addressed criticisms from Nigerians after speaking out against violence during the End Bad Governance protests. In videos shared on social media, Daniels urged for peaceful demonstrations, which prompted backlash from users who accused her of being out of touch due to her marriage to an older senator.

In a video posted on Instagram this morning, Daniels highlighted troubling developments in Northern Nigeria, where some individuals have raised the Russian flag and called for intervention from the Russian government. She questioned if this was the direction Nigerians wanted to take, emphasizing the potential nationwide impact of Northern unrest.

“Hoisting the Russian flag! Is that what we want? Mind you, whatever happens in the North can get to you,” Daniels said.

She acknowledged her privileged status but stressed that it doesn't prevent her from understanding the struggles of everyday Nigerians.

“The fact remains that I am privileged and opportune, but that doesn't stop me from understanding that my nanny needs to be paid extra, or that my gateman or cooks need to be catered for because of insecurity and extra bills in Nigeria.”

Daniels clarified that her stance was not in support of the government or an attempt to win public favor. “I am just stating the obvious fact and that is the truth. The earlier we all realize that this protest is turning into something else, the better for us all,” she concluded.
