Two Men Convicted in 2022 Murder of Rapper PnB Rock

In a decisive verdict, two men were found guilty on all counts related to the 2022 murder of rapper PnB Rock, born Rakim Allen. The incident took place at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles on September 12, 2022.

Freddie Trone, 42, was convicted of murder, robbery, and conspiracy for orchestrating the fatal robbery. Trone directed his 17-year-old son to rob the rapper and acted as the getaway driver. Trone’s defense argued he was unaware of his son's actions and was merely at the restaurant to promote his beauty supply shop. The jury, however, dismissed this claim, emphasizing the six-minute period during which Trone allegedly armed his son.

PnB Rock's fiancée, Stephanie Sibounheuang, was initially accused of inadvertently revealing their location through a social media post, but the jury determined her post played no role in the crime. Sibounheuang testified about PnB Rock’s efforts to protect her during the attack.

Despite arguments from his lawyer that the case against him was weak, the jury also found Jones guilty.

The tragic event saw PnB Rock shot once in the chest and twice in the back by an assailant in a ski mask who demanded his jewelry and threatened to kill his girlfriend while they were having lunch.

PnB Rock, a Philadelphi a native, rose to fame in 2016 with his hit single “Selfish” and achieved crossover success with collaborations like Ed Sheeran’s “Cross Me.” His untimely death sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community.
